Hotel Review

Perched on the ancient bastions of Mdina you will find a real treasure – a unique 17th-century palazzo that is The Xara Palace, the only hotel within this walled city. An exclusive, family-run boutique hotel, this is the place to stay if romance and cultural refinement are what you are looking for, and when money is no object. Your room, one of only 17, may well look out to sea, with high ceilings and an eclectic mix of antiques, traditional Maltese pieces and elegant soft furnishings. A natural haven for royalty and A-list celebrities thanks to its impeccable and discreet service, this characterful building offers a sense of tranquility you will be hard pushed to find anywhere else on the island. The rooftop terrace of Xara's award-winning De Mondion restaurant provides panoramic views of Malta's skyline; during the summer months, a chaotic foray of festival fireworks will accompany a truly unforgettable taste of the island's finest cuisine
