This low key, centrally located boutique city hotel is a tale of two halves. Downstairs a discreet reception squeezed in to Restaurant Palette and upstairs (lift available) quiet functional corridors with heavily sound proofed doors behind which lie traditional and intimate rooms. Damask-patterned wallpaper in muted tones sets an almost Victorian backdrop, complemented by antique-style furniture—wooden bedside tables, desks, framed oil paintings, that lend a sense of history and lived-in elegance. Persian-style rugs add warmth and texture underfoot, while soft, golden lighting creates a comforting almost sexy lamplit glow.

Returning downstairs, the mood deepens into something distinctly evening-oriented, although it’s open all day. This busy bar and café feels like a late-night salon: intimate, relaxed, and quietly luxurious. Deep charcoal and inky walls cocoon the space, offset by plush velvet banquettes in rich blues and clusters of low marble-topped tables that encourage lingering. The menu offers light sharing bites. This is a young persons milieu and not ideal for the visually impaired.

Inside it’s ideal for travellers who value atmosphere, intimacy, and personality over minimalist statements and polished chrome. Outside it’s almost spitting distance to the train station and in the heart of designer shopping.
