Hotel Review

Ensconced by five acres of lychee and mango trees, and fields of sugarcane, Tree of Life Jaagir Lodge is a veritable oasis. Its bucolic surrounds mean you are protected from the usual hustle and bustle from village life, and you are but a thirty minute scenic drive from Dudhwa National Park. This former hunting lodge turned luxury boutique hotel provides travellers visiting the area a chic place to stay. Suites are palatial, with not one but two beds, making it ideal for families. In the main house there are three luxury rooms and three suites, all featuring antique furnishings and plush fabrics and decor, as well as fire places for those crisp winter nights. Outside, the newly built Jhaalas provide a fun, jungle stay with wooden mezzanine sleeping areas, built atop huge baths which take centre stage in the room. The food is outstanding, and considering this property's remote location, it is even more commendable. Fresh salads with tangy dressings, local fish dishes as well as opulent chocolate brownies for dessert. There is no 'menu' as such, instead staff will discuss with guests their food preferences and suggest a daily menu. All meals are included in the price. Enjoy sundowners up on on the 'machan' on an afternoon or by the pool on a cool evening. A wonderful stay, great for families and wildlife lovers. Proof that you don't have to sacrifice your creature comforts for a stay in the wild!
