Hotel Review
The prize for the steep hike uphill to this handsome villa is utter peace and quiet and air filled with the scent of lemons. Set back from the road and surrounded by a lush garden of fruit trees and vine-shaded paths, it is whitewashed, charmingly modest and apparently miles from the glitz and bustle of the town. It is family run and has unpretentious decoration and furnishings. You enter into a large hall and climb stairs to a gallery, off which lead the bedrooms, their white walls hung with old pictures and prints; plain curtains hang from wooden poles; floors are tiled and bathrooms simple. Try for a room with a balcony and sea view. Breakfast is a feast of cold meats, yogurt, fresh bread and home-made jam, served on the terrace if the weather is warm enough. A swimming pool is a welcome, relatively new addition.
