“A grand medieval courtyard and landscaped gardens in the Devon countryside. Stylish rooms exude contemporary country chic and offer exceptional value. Great locally sourced food is found at the White Hart amid the formal gardens. A wonderful spot for all the family to enjoy the best of Devon.”

Hotel Review

The spacious and comfortable rooms, set within the splendid Grade 1 listed mediaeval buildings, are decorated in contemporary style with good amenities. Communal rooms, however, tend to be let out for weddings and other events. The setting is a delight with beautiful gardens which border on to a lovely stretch of the upper Dart – ideal for long or short walks. Dining is in the White Hart Pub which forms part of the hotel. Short and interesting menus concentrating on seasonal dishes using locally sourced ingredients. Attentive and friendly service. The Dartington Hall Trust (set up in 1925 by Leonard and Dorothy Elmhirst to support art and educational projects in the local economy) runs talks and activities throughout the year so there is plenty to do in the evenings as well. Dartington Hall would make a good base for seeing the local area whether you are looking to walk or sightsee. The coast and moors are no distance.
