EMA House Hotel Suites, Zurich is tucked just beyond the city’s bustle on Nordstrasse, just 10 minutes walk from the station and the buzz of the Old Town with its fashionable boutiques and restaurants. It offers spacious apartment-style living with a polished, hotel-like ease that feels both efficient and indulgent.
The aesthetic leans toward understated modern: clean lines, muted tones, and an emphasis on space—always a luxury in Zurich. Beds are supremely comfortable, cupboards capacious, bathrooms bright, marble-clad and with Natural Remedies soaps. It’s hard to fault. Living areas are minimalist with leather sofas, breakfast table and in the 1 and 2 bedroom suites a sleek and well-equipped kitchenette with washing machine (so important for long stays) - an extra charge of CHF 25 per night may apply. Upper floors have views to the river, Platzspitz and the Alps in the far distance. The overall impression is one of calm and privacy rather than showy design.
This is not a destination hotel, but an excellent base for short or long term stays. If you want all singing, all dancing, bars, restaurants etc. stay somewhere else.

Why do people love staying in your hotel? Guests consistently praise EMA House Hotel Suites for feeling like a home away from home. The spacious suites with separate living and sleeping areas offer true residential comfort in the heart of Zurich. Many appreciate the peaceful riverside location that's far enough from tourist crowds yet just steps from the main train station and old town. Our attentive, multilingual staff create a personal, welcoming atmosphere that keeps guests returning. Business travellers value the workspace and professional amenities, while families and long-stay guests love the flexibility of having fully-equipped kitchens (costs may apply according the booked rate) and in-suite washer/dryers. The combination of hotel service with apartment-style independence makes EMA House unique.
What is there to do in the area? We're ideally positioned for exploring Zurich. The Swiss National Museum is just a 10-minute walk, while the historic old town with its medieval churches (Grossmünster, Fraumünster with Chagall windows) is easily reached on foot or by tram. Bahnhofstrasse, one of the world's most exclusive shopping streets, is two tram stops away. Culture enthusiasts can visit the Kunsthaus art museum or enjoy performances at the nearby opera house. Behind us lies Platzspitz Park, perfect for riverside strolls along the Limmat. The public swimming area across the street is popular in summer. ETH Zurich and the Museum of Design are within walking distance. The main train station provides easy access to day trips throughout Switzerland, including Lake Zurich cruises and mountain excursions.
What kind of breakfast do you offer? We offer a delicious continental breakfast delivered directly to your suite each morning at your preferred time. The breakfast includes fresh bread and pastries, Swiss cheeses, cold cuts, yogurt, fresh fruit, orange juice, and coffee or tea. It's designed to be enjoyed in the comfort and privacy of your own suite, whether at the dining table or even in your bathrobe. Guests particularly appreciate this personalized service and the generous portions. Breakfast can be added to any booking for an additional charge.
Can you recommend good places to eat out locally? Zurich offers exceptional dining at every level. For traditional Swiss cuisine, we recommend Zeughauskeller (historic guild house atmosphere) or Kronenhalle (classic fine dining with original art). Right in our neighbourhood, Restaurant Drei Stuben is a wonderful choice for regional cuisine served in a beautifully preserved historic building. For something more contemporary, the Zurich West district has trendy spots like Frau Gerolds Garten (outdoor food stalls and beer garden). The nearby Niederdorf area in the old town is filled with cosy restaurants and cafes. Our team is always happy to make personalized recommendations based on your preferences and make reservations on your behalf.
Which are your most popular room types, and why? Our 1-Bedroom Executive Suites and 2-Bedroom Executive Suites are particularly popular with business travellers and couples seeking spacious accommodation with separate living and sleeping areas. These suites offer generous space and are perfect for those who need to work during the day and relax in the evening without feeling confined to a traditional hotel room. For longer stays and families, our 1-Bedroom Residential Suites and 2-Bedroom Residential Suites are the top choice. These suites include fully-equipped kitchens, making them feel like a true city apartment while still enjoying hotel service. The flexibility to prepare your own meals and the added convenience of in-suite laundry facilities make them ideal for extended visits. Guests consistently appreciate that all our suites are genuinely spacious by Zurich standards, with thoughtfully designed layouts that maximize comfort and functionality, whether you're staying for a few nights or several weeks.
What facilities do you have for children and can you fit extra beds in your rooms? We warmly welcome families with children. Baby cots are available upon request at no additional charge. Our larger suites (1-Bedroom and 2-Bedroom Executive Suites, as well as our Residential Suites) can accommodate extra beds for children, though we recommend discussing your specific needs when booking to ensure the most suitable configuration. Our Residential Suites with fully-equipped kitchens are particularly appreciated by families with young children, allowing parents to prepare meals, warm bottles, or store snacks. We provide high chairs upon request. The spacious suites give children room to play, and the separate bedrooms in our 2-Bedroom Suites allow for flexible sleeping arrangements. Our residential-style setting makes families feel comfortable and at home, and the nearby GZ Schindlergut offers excellent playground facilities for children.
What message would you like to give The Hotel Guru readers? EMA House Hotel Suites offers something increasingly rare in Zurich: the space, comfort, and independence of a private apartment combined with the service and convenience of a quality hotel. Our riverside location provides a peaceful retreat just minutes from the city's energy, and our team takes pride in creating a personal, welcoming atmosphere where every guest is valued. If you value authentic comfort, thoughtful service, and a location that puts all of Zurich within easy reach, we'd be delighted to welcome you to EMA House.
