Built in 1750, Wood Hall was privately owned before becoming a boys prep school and now its present incarnation as a small country house hotel. It enjoys a very peaceful location, perched on a hill set amid 100 acres of grounds including glorious Italianate gardens. The forty four bedrooms are spacious and feature all comforts you would expect from a four star hotel: fluffy robes, flat screeen TVs. Book a deluxe room and you'll find authentic antique furniture, sleigh beds or four posters and free standing roll-top baths. The George Restaurant has been awarded with 2 AA Rosettes and prides itself on the use of locally sourced ingredients. Here you'll find classic British Cuisine (sometimes with a modern twist). Add to this a pampering spa with swimming pool, small gym and a plethora of treatments to choose from and you have a great spot for some chilling out.
