Geneva is picturesquely set on Lake Geneva, surrounded by the Swiss Alps and is an obvious stop off on the way to the Alps, or an easy city break for families. Its historic Old Town is one of Europe’s largest, and has some wonderful architecture, arranged on elegant squares with cafes, bistros and little boutiques — it also has lots of chocolate shops which the kids are bound to love!
