Hotel Review
A dearth of interesting places to stay in Bristol makes this an original concept to offer those underwhelmed by the somewhat lacklustre options available in the area. A disused Victorian paint factory operated for 80 years before closing its doors in 1988. After lying derelict, it reopened in 2006 as a creative hub for artists, publishers and designers. Within the building the owner allocated five loft style apartments - all with the same aesthetic of spaciousness and funky, urban modernity but each one having a different theme and layout. Some have exposed brick walls, punchy colour, most are adorned with bold street art. All are equipped with contemporary accoutrements such a flat screen TV, Mac computer, arty books and arthouse DVDs. Boca Bar next door serves pizza in an industrial-style warehouse and Charlie of The Tube diner opposite comprising two gleaming airstreams whips up deliciously creamy scrambled eggs for breakfast.
