About Mandrem

A vast stretch of golden sand in North Goa, Mandrem has long been a favourite destination for relaxed beachgoers. Far quieter than the legendary hippie haven of Anjuna, this part of the coast offers some great breaks for beginner surfers, plenty of spots for a refreshing dip, and a plethora of great little hotels and restaurants. There are romantic seaside escapes and chic boutique boltholes amongst the best places to stay in Mandrem — perfect for couples, friends and solo travellers.

Water sports enthusiasts in Mandrem or neighbouring Ashvem can try paddle boarding, parasailing and surfing, or embark on scenic bird watching trips along the nearby Chapora River estuary. Day trips to Old Goa’s enormous religious landmarks, or to Anjuna’s lively markets also come highly recommended. Alternatively, simply slow down with a restorative yoga retreat or soothing Ayurvedic reset at one of the best places to stay in Mandrem.

Evenings are for savouring fresh seafood and Goan specialities at family-owned eateries beneath the palms, or for long beach walks with loved ones. Early risers may be rewarded by the sight of Olive Ridley turtles nesting on golden sands before sunrise. Whether you're dreaming of a laid-back beach break, or combining time at the coast with a wider exploration of Goa's many inland charms, Mandrem is a wonderful destination for guests of all ages.
