About Mandrem

A vast stretch of golden sand in North Goa, Mandrem has long been a favourite destination for relaxed beachgoers. Far quieter than the legendary hippie haven of Anjuna, this part of the coast offers some great breaks for beginner surfers, plenty of spots for a refreshing dip, and a plethora of great little hotels and restaurants. Water sports enthusiasts in Mandrem or neighbouring Ashvem can try paddle boarding, parasailing and surfing, or embark on scenic bird watching trips along the nearby Chapora River estuary. Day trips to Old Goa’s enormous religious landmarks, or to Anjuna’s lively markets also come highly recommended.   • Palma Beach Resort is a chic 22-bedroom hotel right on Mandrem Beach. For a timeless escape

  • Fly to Goa Dabolim Airport, 4km from Vasco de Gama and 29km southwest of Panaji. Most hotels will be happy to arrange an airport pick-up in advance.

  • Peak season runs from November through to mid-February, when the weather is cooler and dry. Expect December to be particularly lively with festivals and events; it may be worth booking your room well in advance.
