To delve further into the area’s history, step inside 500-year-old St Anthony’s Church, admire the teracotta-hued Chapora Fort, or visit the Anjuna Albuquerque Caves with an expert guide. Keen hikers will delight in being within easy reach of the verdant Assagao Valley; and late evening or early morning sightings of nesting Olive Ridley turtles on Morjim Beach are very special.

  • Avataara Resort & Spa has 60 stylish guest rooms featuring polished wood, crisp white linens and modern bathrooms. The soothing spa reflects the hotel's strong wellness focus. Life centres around the refreshing swimming pool as well as the pan-Asian restaurant and bar with its regular live music nights.
  • The Westin Goa is a big contemporary hotel with 171 rooms and suites. Most feature floor-to-ceiling windows and marble bathrooms. Families will appreciate the flexible room options, the kids club, two pools and multiple eateries. A luxurious choice with a plethora of facilities.  

For affordable charm

  • Casa Anjuna is a great little hotel with 24 guest rooms set within a characterful villa. The lush gardens frame a café and swimming pool, whilst quirky interiors feature four-poster beds, block-printed textiles, bright polished concrete and private terraces. Lovely and reasonably priced. 
  • Moyrah has 22 sleek rooms and suites with a more urban feel. Big sink-into beds and smart bathrooms will appeal to couples and solo travellers alike. There's also a swimming pool, rooftop bar and an Indian restaurant. Affordable, friendly and modern.

Travel information

  • Fly to Goa Dabolim Airport, an hour and 10 minutes' drive from Anjuna. Most hotels will be happy to arrange an airport pick-up in advance.
  • If you're comfortable driving in India, contact our online partner Rentalcars to hire a car.
  • Peak season runs from November through to mid-February, when temperatures hover around 28°C. Expect December to be particularly lively with festivals and events; it may be worth booking your room well in advance. Consider avoiding the hottest months of April and May, as well as the rainy season, which runs from June to August.
