Balinese-esque cottages round a pool, a few minutes’ walk from a lovely beach. Each well-maintained hut has a veranda and semi open-air bathroom so indoors and outdoors merge. Great for couples, families and solo travellers.
Stepping through a Balinese-style carved wooden doorway, you will encounter individual huts hidden in the jungly palm groves, each with its own veranda and flanking a pool. The cottages are well appointed pavilion-like structures with fairly basic interiors - just a bed, a desk, a wardrobe, standing fan and mosquito net - with en suite partially open-air bathrooms (some with coconut tree incorporated into the design). At dawn, due to the exposure of the roof to the elements, the place comes to life with the noises of nature - frogs, cacophony of birds, the odd piglet grunt, so it can feel a bit like camping, albeit in comfort. There’s a bar by the entrance and a small area at the far end where continental and tasty Indian breakfast is served with delicious fresh juices. It’s situated across the road from the beach so makes for a peaceful place to reboot and kick back away from the throng of the beach scene. Staff are friendly and welcoming.
