“A beautiful stone hotel with garden, terraces and stunning views of the sea, mountains and valleys. Rooms are stylish yet homely, with exposed beams, natural materials and tiled floors contrasted with contemporary furnishings. To top it off, a delicious traditional Greek breakfast is served. Superb!”

Hotel Review

Occasionally a guesthouse stands out from the crowd. The key ingredients? Beautifully orchestrated interiors, top quality details (subtext: high standards) in an unexpected yet peaceful location. If you add to this the enthusiastic, charismatic owners who have poured a lot of love into the project, then you have a winning combination. The elegant four-room B&B housed in a charmingly restored village tower (c.1860) is the second venture of husband and wife team ex-banker Nikolas and artist/interior designer Marina Vanger. The baby sister to their original 9-room hotel Hotel Vager in Vitina, opened in 2019. Rooms are wildly generous and lofty with super kingsize beds (complete with downy pillows and soft linen) and are decorated with attractive textiles and antiques. Shutters on the windows - once used to keep a lookout on a potential pirate invasion - create a cocooning effect to guarantee a wonder-slumber. Delicious homemade breakfasts can be taken either in the tower courtyard or on one of the private guest room terraces. Three decent tavernas are within walking distance, the beach is nearby and the popular town Kalamata is a short drive away.
