Hotel review

Hilario and his camel were among the first settlers on Lanzarote. Perched between sleepy Yaiza village and the mountains of Fire National Park, his one-time casa is now a beautifully appointed seven-roomed guesthouse arranged around a serene courtyard and tiny pool. Opt for bijou No 7 with its sea-and-sunset view, or enormous No 4 if you long for cornflower blue walls, a Chinese mural and a massive bed.
