“A central hotel set in a historic building comprising of exquisitely designed apartments. The decor is undeniably hip, featuring a fresh palette, an array of potted plants and Scandi-cool furniture. An artisanal cafe is the perfect spot to pop into at any time of the day. A real gem.”

Hotel Review

Opened in 2018 Eden Locke is already a millennial institution – think headphones and laptops in the fully WiFi’d lobby/café. This is an efficient, functional, well-appointed comfortable and spotlessly clean place to stay with a fun young vibe about it – what more could you ask for. Even better if you stay here you can park in the hotel carpark located on the street behind, which in Edinburgh with its zero-tolerance parking policy is absolutely worth its weight in gold! There is a slightly institutional feel along the key-carded corridors but the simply decorated studio apartment style bedrooms are quite excellent, complete with fully equipped galley kitchens. Some of the rooms have sliding doors onto an outdoor terrace. Situated bang next door to Tigerlily which is something of an Edinburgh institution, you are in a top spot here. George Street is the Edinburgh equivalent of Bond Street or 5th Avenue, boasting all the premier shops and brands interspersed with trendy cafes and restaurants such as the highly recommended Contini just up the road. So, if you want to hang out in a bamboo bucket chair and look at your emails, or hit the streets for some Scottish culture or smart retail therapy this is very a good place to choose to stay. Great for families or working professionals, but possibly slightly lacking in romance.

Eden Locke, Edinburgh, Scotland

So hip it hurts, but don’t be put off by the precious website. Behind the corporate oversell there’s a cucumber cool concept — fun, design-savvy suites you can comfortably cook in. There’s an ice cream-coloured chill-out/bar space too, all in a fab city centre location.
