Hotel Review

As beach resorts go, Blue Waters has covered all the bases. Attractive accommodation, spacious and beautifully done public areas (the lobby is gorgeous) with an understated yet luxurious colonial feel, and facilities galore - pools aplenty, three beaches, watersports (non-motorised are included in the price), tennis court, complimentary fishing trips, and three dining options (plus Carolyn's for lunch by the pool). Staff are extremely friendly and always keen to help however small or seemingly trivial the request. Book one of the Cove Suites and you'll not only get a semi-private pool (shared with the other guests in your block - max 14), but also a dedicated concierge service (available from 8am to 5pm) and staff on hand to deliver whatever you require to your private pool area. Bedrooms follow the elegant colonial feel with a neutral palette and boast sink-into beds and marble bathrooms, some with stand-alone slipper bath tubs. Dining options include two fine dining restaurants (one French fushion in a cliff top location with stunning sea views, the other a Grill specialist in the main building), or the Palm Restaurant for a relaxed Caribbean cafe atmosphere, so there's no chance of boredom setting in. For pampering take a trip to the spa, where there's a wide range of treatments and massages on offer using Ila and Elemis products. Blue Waters is very family friendly (there's a creche, kids club and dedicated children's buffet dinner from 6-7pm), yet is equally good for a romantic getaway. It's ideally located on the northern tip of the island, just 5 miles from both the capital, St Johns, and the airport. A great all-round beach resort that won't disappoint.
