Open the iron gates on an unprepossessing street in Podensac and your are met with a vision of loveliness. The most perfectly proportioned 'petit chateau' and beautiful gardens meet the eye. Enter the chateau and it gets even better. A recent renovation has created a peaceful haven mixing old with new. Each of the bedrooms has been decorated in a different style, the beds are super comfy with lovely smellies in the bathroom. The location is perfect if you are travelling further south as it is just a 5 hour drive from Saint Malo, and only 7km from the motorway through the beautiful vineyards. The little town is home to the Lillet factory which makes a very pleasant visit (Lillet is a Vermouth style aperitif which was created by the town). There are several good local restaurants within walking distance. The perfect base either for a quick stop-over on your way north or south or a for a longer stay exploring Bordeaux and the wider area.
