Hotel Review

Located in the heart of the city, The Place Firenze is an exceptional haven, more like a sophisticated home than a hotel, adored by everyone who stays behind its subtle townhouse façade. Inside, its elegant interiors are home to centuries-old artifacts and lovingly homemade food served all day in the comfortable lounges where a Charles X fireplace, 70s design pieces, neoclassical furniture and lamps from the 50s sit harmoniously side by side. In between forays to explore the city, retreat to The Place for drinks or perhaps a homemade cake or two. Watch the world go by on the al fresco Terrace in Piazza Santa Maria Novella or relax with an Aperol spritz in The Bar or on the private Rooftop Terrace with its rooftop views, more reminiscent of Capri than Florence.

The 20 rooms vary from cosy dens to the spacious rooftop suite which has amazing 360° views across the square and the city's rooftops. Luxury en-suite marble bathrooms are complemented by luxury bath and body products and all of the rooms have complimentary soft drinks in the mini-bar and a plate of organic seasonal fruit. If you have time for a work out in between seeing the sights, gelati and capuccino stops, the gym is just a two minute walk away. Put your feet up and relax with an aperitivo (the Bloody Marys are excellent) or enjoy a candlelit dinner from the Kitchen - the terrace on the square is the perfect spot to watch the world go by. Expect innovative contemporary Italian dishes with some mouth-watering traditional cuisine. Share adventures and stories over breakfast at the communal table in the glass-roofed courtyard before venturing into the heart of the city. The staff and brilliant Manager, Claudio (who has been here since day one), go out of their way to ensure you have the most memorable stay. The knowledgeable concierge team, well versed in the insider secrets of this fascinating city, is at your beck and call.
