About Exumas

A chain of 365 sun-drenched islands and cays in the Bahamas, the Exumas promise turquoise waters, powder-white beaches, and seemingly endless adventure out on the water. When it comes to the best places to stay on the Exumas, most hotels are clustered on lovely Great Exuma, although there are also some very special retreats on private islands.

Keen adventurers will adore snorkelling, fishing, diving and kite surfing. Hone your sailing or kayaking skills as a family, or hop between islets on chartered boat trips with an expert skipper. Many of the islands in the Exumas are uninhabited or privately owned, so there's it's not unusual to have a beautiful white-sand beach, or fascinating dive site all to yourself.

For a bit more of a buzz, head to Little Exuma or Great Exuma. George Town, the region's laid-back hub, promises colourful shops, superb fresh seafood and a sense of the unique culture of this part of the Caribbean.
