About Moab

Utah’s adventure capital, Moab boasts spectacular red rock formations and huge stretches of golden desert sands, seemingly straight from an old-school Western film. The iconic Thelma and Louise was filmed here, as were the classic John Ford Westerns — firing the imaginations of a generation. Moab’s accommodation options cater to a whole host of budgets, and range from traditional downtown inns to striking and secluded ranches out in the rocky desert. Whether you’re dreaming of waking up within sight of the Colorado River, keen to camp out under the stars or to book a whole cottage with family and friends, our selection of the best places to stay in Moab promises adventure-minded travellers a great base to relax in desert bliss.

Outdoor enthusiasts have long flocked to Moab to explore the region’s mountain bike paths and hiking trails, to try whitewater rafting, horse riding, off-road driving or star-gazing with an expert astronomer. With both Canyonlands National Park and Arches National Park easily accessible, there’s no shortage of adventures to be had.

Moab offers in-town entertainment aplenty, too, with cosy cafes, breweries and gourmet restaurants, as well as art galleries and museums. It’s well worth taking the time to stroll through the town’s sunbaked streets to pick up a piece of local artwork or to tuck into fantastic fresh fare after an action-packed day touring the region by air or hardy off-road Jeep. From lovely B&Bs to laid-back lodges, the best places to stay in Moab are infused with a wonderful Western charm and a real pride in this wild desert country which has long lured travellers with its promise of excitement and adventure. This is a popular destination, so book your accommodation well in advance to avoid missing out!
