Coulibri Ridge is a stunning, completely off grid eco resort in 285 acres with 14 elegant sky lofts, penthouses and studios positioned dramatically on a mountain ridge in the far south of Dominica. The owners pursued their vision of creating a fully sustainable hotel which is also beautifully designed. Interiors are neutral and materials used for floors, ceilings, doors, and furniture are from renewable sources, or are fully recyclable, while still exuding style and elegance.
The spacious high-ceilinged rooms have huge windows with views out to sea or the Sulphur Springs valley and come with an outdoor shower or shimmering private plunge pool. Interiors feature wall art depicting hummingbirds (coulibri means hummingbird in Creole), a spacious living room area with sofa and ottoman and a modern stylish kitchen area with an island and sitting stools, coffee maker, microwave and fridge. In case you are still peckish after dining in Coulibri’s superb restaurants, jars of daily snacks - nuts fruit, cookies and sweet treats are provided.
Breakfast and lunch are served in the bright informal Mesa restaurant with lots of fresh tropical fruits and the option to try local Caribbean specialities. Later you can enjoy a cocktail and gourmet dining beneath the stars at rooftop Riva overlooking an infinity pool. Chef Damien Mason creates original dishes using produce grown on site or from local suppliers and farms.
Coulibri Ridge is a breathtaking eco resort which offers a sustainable experience without compromising on luxury and style.

We have 14 luxurious and spacious suites which makes the resort feel intimate and deeply personal, allowing our team to tailor each experience to the individual guest. Coulibri Ridge has panoramic views of lush mountains and the sea. We’re a luxury eco-resort proving that environmentally conscious travel can be both luxurious and mindful. From solar-powered energy systems to rainwater-fed pools and farm-grown produce, sustainability is seamlessly integrated into the guest experience without sacrificing comfort or design.
We offer a robust culinary program where international influences meet true farm-to-table cuisine, paired with a thoughtfully curated wellness experience. Guests can practice yoga in our open-air pavilion surrounded by nature and indulge in spa treatments inspired by the island, using locally sourced, natural ingredients that reflect Dominica’s rich landscape.
Guests love exploring our property via e-bikes or wandering the lush on-site trails, while the resort’s location in southern Dominica places them close to some of the island’s most authentic adventures. Free diving in Soufrière, hiking The Waitukubuli National Trail, and enjoying our dramatic coastal views, and untouched landscapes are all within easy reach. Above all, guests leave feeling restored, having experienced Dominica in a way that feels immersive, meaningful, and quietly extraordinary.
What is there to do in the area? The area surrounding Coulibri Ridge offers some of the most diverse and unspoiled experiences in the Caribbean. Nature lovers are spoiled for choice, beginning with scuba diving and free diving in the crystal-clear waters of Soufrière Marine Reserve, where volcanic formations and marine life create an unforgettable underwater world. Hiking enthusiasts can explore sections of the Waitukubuli National Trails, which winds through rainforests, ridgelines, and rural villages across the island.
Guests can enjoy farm-to-table meals both on property and throughout the island, connecting directly with Dominica’s rich agricultural heritage. A day excursion through the Roseau Valley just 40 minutes from the resort, offers unique natural wonders.Explore the lush rainforest, towering peaks, scenic rivers, and geothermal marvels of this UNESCO World Heritage Site. Witness the stunning mountain views where the twin Trafalgar Falls can be seen, bubbling sulphur springs, and hot pools creating natural therapeutic body treatments.
Cultural experiences are equally rewarding. Visits to the Kalinago Territory provide insight into the island’s Indigenous heritage, while Dominica’s waterfalls, Middleham Falls, Emerald Pool, Jacko Falls, and many more offer moments of awe and adventure.
From there, the menu expands to include international breakfast classics such as French toast, pancakes, and farm-fresh eggs prepared to order. For those looking to experience authentic Dominican flavors, the local breakfast special is not to be missed. Rotating daily, it may include puffy, deep-fried bakes served with salted cod, cinnamon-dusted fried plantains, and sautéed local spinach.
Thoughtfully prepared and deeply rooted in place, breakfast at Coulibri Ridge sets the tone for a day of exploration, relaxation, and connection to Dominica’s culinary heritage.
Do you offer other meals? And can you recommend good places to eat locally? Coulibri Ridge offers two distinct dining experiences that reflect the rhythms of the day and the richness of Dominica’s ingredients. Mesa Dining is open for breakfast and lunch, serving relaxed, nourishing meals that highlight fresh, local produce. Vista Dining opens in the evening and offers a more refined dinner experience, with sweeping views and thoughtfully crafted menus.
Across both restaurants, the focus is on locally sourced fish, seafood, chicken, and meat, with minimal reliance on imported ingredients. Executive Chef Damien Mason leads the culinary vision, creating menus that celebrate the island’s natural bounty. Partnering with farmers from around the island, guests can experience organically grown fruits and vegetables harvested on the island: think cacao, coconut, soursop, avocado, mango, guava, bananas, bok choy, cherry tomatoes, and fresh greens.
For guests who wish to dine off-property, our team is happy to recommend excellent local restaurants in nearby villages, from casual seaside spots to hidden gems serving traditional Creole cuisine. Wherever guests choose to eat, the emphasis remains on freshness, authenticity, and a true taste of Dominica.
Which are your most popular room types, and why? All of our accommodations are intentionally designed to be unique, offering space, privacy, and a deep connection to the surrounding landscape. Among the most sought-after categories are our Sky Penthouses, Morne Fou Lofts, and Seaview Studios, each appealing to different travel styles while maintaining the same elevated standard of comfort.
The Sky Penthouse is our signature offering and a favorite for guests seeking dramatic views and privacy. This two-level suite features expansive living spaces, dual terraces overlooking both the sea and the Sulphur Spring Valley, and options for a private infinity pool or outdoor rain shower. The panoramic vistas of Morne Fou and the Caribbean Sea are truly unforgettable.
Our most popular suite, the Morne Fou Loft is ideal for guests who want generous indoor-outdoor living with proximity to communal pools. With sweeping sea views, flexible living spaces, and the option to link two lofts, it’s perfect for couples or friends traveling together.
Seaview Studios offer a more compact yet equally luxurious experience, featuring large terraces, full kitchens, and uninterrupted mountain and ocean views, ideal for guests who want simplicity without compromise.
What facilities do you have for children, and can you fit extra beds in your rooms? Coulibri Ridge is designed as a peaceful, immersive retreat, and as such, the resort does not currently accommodate children under the age of 12 years old. All of our suites are spacious and thoughtfully designed, making them well suited for couples, friends, or solo travelers. Each suite includes a pull-out queen-sized sofa that can comfortably accommodate two additional adults, allowing flexibility for small groups traveling together.
While we do not offer dedicated children’s facilities at this time, the generous layouts, full kitchens, and expansive terraces ensure that guests traveling with additional adults can do so comfortably. Our team is always happy to advise on the most suitable room categories based on group size and preferences to ensure every stay feels seamless and well considered.
