Hotel review

The owners of this newly opened majestic residence take a unique approach to hospitality. Ahead of staying, guests are invited to complete a questionnaire to help the team at Dar Al Dall -This Time Tomorrow in Marrakech capture individuals’ interests and expectations so a tailor-made itinerary can be curated.

An oasis of sophistication and tranquility, Dar Al Dall which translates as ‘house of shadows’ (shade created by four robust courtyard palms), was seven years in the making. The owners, co-founders of bespoke luxury travel company This Time Tomorrow, opened their first boutique accommodation in Florence. The aim is to give guests a unique and personalised experience with crafted stays that could involve a perfume workshop, cooking class, indulgent spa experience, spice/artisanal tour or urban photography odyssey.

The 300 year old exquisitely renovated riad  generates a sublimely calm feeling. The grand proportions give a sense of opulence and expansiveness with each bedroom taking up a dedicated wing of the house. There’s designated space to write or read in a bhou nook or on the private loggia or main multi-level terrace with far reaching views. Stretch out on a chaise long, unwind in a bath of scented salts with soft black hamman Beldi soap then sleep in four-poster bliss.

An open kitchen means guests can watch the skilled dada (chef) prepare food and help themselves to fruit, cake and biscuits if peckish. Deliciously flavoured dinner (a cut above some of the city’s cuisine) is delivered by delightful and attentive staff and enjoyed where breakfast is also served - all homemade - under the roof top pergola. Service is soulful. Where to go to feel like a VIP.  Expect delights and surprises in every sense - for all senses.

See what they say

Why do people love staying in your hotel? Guests often tell us it’s the sense of calm and space that sets Dar Al Dall apart—our generously sized suites and tranquil shared areas offer rare privacy in the heart of the Medina. Our warm, intuitive service and carefully curated local experiences are also among the highlights.

What is there to do in the area? We’re tucked in the oldest quarter of the Medina, just a short walk from the Medersa Ben Youssef, Maison de la Photographie, and Le Jardin Secret. The surrounding alleys are rich in history, artisanship, and local life.

What kind of breakfast do you offer? We serve a generous, daily-changing breakfast featuring warm egg dishes, house-made granola and yoghurt, fresh fruit salad, local breads and preserves—all prepared in our kitchen and served either in our dining room (winter) or rooftop.

Do you offer other meals? And can you recommend good places to eat out locally? Yes, we offer both lunch and dinner in-house, with set menus inspired by Moroccan and Mediterranean seasonal cuisine. We’re also happy to recommend our favourite restaurants in Marrakech through personalised pre-arrival communication.

Which are your most popular room types, and why? All of our five suites are unique and equally loved—each tells its own design story and reflects the layered personality of the Riad.

What facilities do you have for children, and can you fit extra beds in your rooms? Dar Al Dall welcomes guests aged 14 and above. We can accommodate one extra bed in the Iming Suite, subject to availability and additional charge.

What message would you like to give The Hotel Guru readers? If you’re seeking an intimate, design-led retreat in the heart of Marrakech’s Medina—one that values privacy, craft, and a slower rhythm—we’d love to welcome you at Dar Al Dall.
