With a prime location at the foot of the Ljubljana Castle, the Lesar Hotel Angel is an excellent base from which to explore the medieval, Baroque and Art Nouveau delights of the city. The interior decor is elegant and tasteful; rooms spacious, bright and comfortable with top quality linen, and reception staff are friendly and helpful. There’s a charming garden that reaches up to the castle itself and the nearby restaurant, associated with the hotel, offers fine local cuisine. It’s a climb up to the top floor via the steep stairs, as there’s no lift.
