Hotel review

Nothing slick or modern here, but this charming family-run haveli offers great space and comfort in the middle of town. Old (royal) family photographs and traditional artefacts adorn the 20 intricately decorated bedrooms and suites; good bathrooms. Attractive sitting out areas offer shade and comfortable sofas around the courtyard. Two restaurants; excellent Indian food at Indique on the roof terrace with the Mehrangarh Fort above, and great views down over the old city. There’s a fully licensed bar and very steep stairs, so watch it on the way down.
