“Classy, smart, elegant, modern and stylish. A perfect hotel from which to enjoy Rome’s best gardens and top art gallery.”

Hotel review

Defined as a “fortress of the past”, this traditional, cream edifice looks superbly solid. Well positioned right at the top of Via Veneto, opposite the city’s historic walls and by the arched gate of Porta Pinciana. It doesn’t need its own garden as it’s directly opposite the entrance to the Villa Borghese Gardens.

Its neoclassical lobby has a light, airy feel with wicker chairs and palms, with marble monuments and fresh flowers. The overall vibe is suggestive of a recent opening. It’s just so warm, clean, bright and vibrant. And all reflected in the décor. The rooms have hardwood flooring, silk curtains, Art Deco-inspired furniture and, best of all, soundproofed windows.

The hotel’s Flora Roof Top Terrace is the perfect setting for breakfast as the sun emerges over the city’s roofs thus offering an enchanting view of St. Peter’s. The outdoors are lined with rosemary pots and attract green parakeets. The ground floor Flora restaurant has an à la carte menu offering a Mediterranean cuisine and there’s also the sumptuously red dining room of the Salone Dulce Vita with its parquet flooring. The soothing piano bar, with its earthy, dark green colours has both a marble and wooden floor and leather chairs in alcoves designed for privacy. A proper retreat into which to retire from the bustle of the city.
