Once a rabbi’s house, The Mellah (meaning “salt” in Arabic), is located in the heart of the Mellah District, Marrakech’s historic Jewish quarter. It has been thoughtfully transformed by its current owners, two French-Moroccan entrepreneurs, into an upbeat hotel with all the qualities of a top Marrakechi destination. With a strikingly tiled rooftop pool, extensive terraces complete with comfortable sun loungers and bohemian seating, bar and restaurant, it’s becoming a popular place for style-conscious locals and international visitors. 
 
Elegant, dark-hued rooms are inviting and cocooning with subtle lighting, generous beds and copper tubs. Think understated luxury where everything points towards relaxation. The no key system adds to the laid-back mood. The restaurant, where the chef takes great pride in their cooking, is flexible on timings so drinks and bar snacks are available on request. Dinner is a veritable feast of Moroccan flavours, made with love and attention to detail. 
 
Creating a community spirit, the accommodating staff go above and beyond with gracious hospitality and helpfulness, to ensure guests feel at home. The enthusiastic owners have plans to expand the hotel to encompass more suites and possibly a spa for guests as well as day visitors. Watch this space. It has all the markings of becoming a city hotspot.

Which are your most popular room types, and why? Our most popular rooms are those featuring our iconic handcrafted copper or brass bathtubs, as well as our signature leather flooring. Guests love their unique design, spacious bathrooms and the distinctive character that makes every room different.
