The Hotel Guru is pretty upscale but fun to look at. Marcie Ellers.
“A quaint option at the heart of Snowdonia National Park. A former country jail now beautifully renovated. Rooms feature exposed stone walls, crisp white linen and comfortable beds. The intimate restaurant serves hearty food and there's a cosy bar. An ideal spot to return to after a day outdoors.”

Hotel Review
“Friendly and unfussy, Y Meirionnydd has been something of a work in progress, the owners having steadily refurbishing the rooms to create en-suite rooms with a more contemporary yet homely feel, en-suite, with original features, as well as garnering plaudits for upping the ante in the cellar restaurant, with its exposed stone walls, church pew seats and menu of local favourites given an original twist. A bar, for convivial drinks, is the latest addition to this simple, effective place in the centre of Dolgellau, making a good base to explore the region at a modest price.”
