This lovely 8-room, blue-and-white oasis has laid-back, sandy-toed coastal chill absolutely nailed. Big, airy bedrooms feature four-poster beds and polished concrete bathrooms, whilst french windows reveal covered private terraces — perfect for a cosy cup of tea. Take a dip in the plunge pool, paddle out into the soothing waters of the Indian Ocean or sip a punchy cocktail at the distinctive bar, fashioned from an aeroplane wing. Sightseers can delight in a sunset tour of the paddy fields with charming resort owner Tharuka, or snorkel amidst turtles and reef sharks near Pigeon Island. Trincomalee lies just twenty kilometres away, with a busy market and plenty of brightly painted streets to discover. The highlight? Amanta’s daily three-course dinners of fresh seafood and locally grown produce are the stuff of legend.
