Hotel Review

The story behind this hotel is utterly remarkable - 13 Ming and Qing Dynasty houses and the 1000 year old Camphor trees that surrounded them would have been lost forever when their land was recommissioned as a dam. However a young wealthy business man stepped in and painstakingly transported them stone by stone, and tree by tree to their new home in the Minhang district of greater Shanghai. From this point 24 new villas were added and this incredible hotel was born. Though not a cheap hotel by any stretch, it is a totally unique opportunity to immerse yourself in ancient Chinese culture and experience how it is today. In every detail you see equal parts, beautiful tradition and luxurious comforts. A breathtaking place!
