Perched on a cliff face high above Mykonos Town, Deos is a lesson to us all in understated elegance, where design and tranquillity meet. A new addition to the Mykonos hotel scene––opened in 2024––Deos, meaning awe or wonder in Ancient Greek, certainly inspires that. This boutique hideaway redefines luxury with sleek architecture, soothing neutral tones plus its aesthetic blends in with rather than shouts, instead allowing Mykonos’s natural beauty to take centre stage instead of its usual hedonism. Of particular note is its location; a short walk downhill, or private buggy transfer, the latter definitely recommended after your night out, to Mykonos Town and all it has to offer, yet Deos’s clifftop location means it’s also perfectly positioned for privacy where it enjoys cinematic views of the Aegean, the old harbour and its famed windmills.
Each of its 12 rooms and 30 suites are a haven of calm––think private plunge pools with a touch of bohemian sophistication. Nothing is fussy or overly complicated, the aesthetic bows to Cycladic simplicity; earthy textures, handcrafted furniture, and organic colour palette blending into the wild Mykonian landscape. After a taste of Mykonian cuisine on the terrace at Epico, the hotel’s restaurant with Mediterranean gastronomy created by Greek executive chefs, sit by the main infinity pool, undoubtably Deos’s showstopper, and enjoy a front-row seat to breathtaking sunsets, cocktail in hand
