This charming property, built in 1726, was built as the town house for the Thakur from Diggi, which is 70km SW of Jaipur. Now it is their family home and, since 1990, a 70-room heritage hotel. It has beautiful gardens and trees with magnificent birdlife. The rooms are simple and traditional under cooling verandahs. Much of the food is home produced and the dairy is still here, close to the vast durbar hall. In January the Diggi Palace is the centre for some of the annual Jaipur Literary Festival.
