Located in Santiago's arty, residential area of Barrio Brasil, this 17-bedroom hotel is within walking distance of many of the city's museums and sights. Once the family house of former president Balmaceda, the hotel retains many original characteristics from its high-ceilinged rooms with original, decorative features to its wooden floorboards and shutters. Beyond the grand exterior is a calm and quiet haven, with a leafy garden and courtyard, and numerous seating areas, complete with travel and photography books. Come evening, relax in the hotel's honesty bar or explore restaurants in the area, which the helpful staff will happily recommed. The hotel can also arrange tours of vineyards and other nearby attractions.
