“Dynamic Lower East Side hotel featuring Japanese restaurant Sake No Hana, piano lounge, rooftop bar, and co-working spaces with free morning coffee. Compact, tech-savvy rooms, minutes from vibrant neighbourhoods. A buzzy, affordable stay for travellers who move fast.”

Hotel review

A doorman who remembers your name welcomes you back to pumping music, inviting fragrance and low lighting - guests mingle at the lobby bar while well-heeled tourists slink downstairs to the subterranean Japanese restaurant. Rooms are bigger than the uptown Moxy counterparts, still small but smartly designed with decent beds and kit that works. Free coffee (until 10am) helps with jet lag, and the co-working area does the job.

Iconic Sake No Hana will be a trip highlight. Hamachi crudo, bluefin tuna tataki, wood oven roasted branzino with sunchoke and kumquat: proper Japanese technique meets New York ingredients, sourced from Union Square Greenmarket and Tokyo's Toyosu Market. You're steps from Katz's Deli and Russ & Daughters, plus Chinatown and Little Italy are walkable. The streets immediately outside are rough around the edges - don’t be put off, but pay attention after dark. Ideal for young couples or business travellers who want energy without being coddled, in a neighbourhood absolutely packed with places to eat (and spend!).
