“Classic luxury meets 21st-century style at this Athens Grand Dame. Dignified and charming, with great rooftop pool and contemporary rooms. Some rooms have views of the Acropolis. Not super central so good rates, and in upmarket, quiet residential area.”

Hotel Review
Kolonaki is where Athens' hautes bourgeoises go for coffee and patisserie or smart after-dinner drinks. The St George has presided over the neighbourhood for more than 50 years, and its dignified charm has been enhanced by a recent makeover to keep it competitive with upstart rivals. It has lost none of its style, but the rooftop pool is still its biggest selling point – along with very attractive rates, considering what you get for the money. Go for a south-facing room with a balcony overlooking the Acropolis.
