With an impressive location overlooking the maze at Hampton Court on one side, Bushy Park on the other, and Kingston’s shopping and eateries nearby, this 14-room boutique hotel dating from 1709 is ideal for a packed weekend away. You’ll want to relax or have a drink on the terrace or in the elegant lounge, dining and cocktail bar areas - the original mosaic tiling in the reception area and stained glass features are a highlight - and the fabulously imaginative British cuisine is another distinct plus. Most bedrooms are relatively compact, yet are chic and contemporary and boast luxuriously comfortable beds and have homely touches such as pretty, rustic tiles in the bathrooms.
