Sophie-May Williams has spent the last six years freelancing for national publications like Cosmopolitan UK, Metro, The Independent and Yahoo, covering lifestyle, travel, fashion and women's health. Since 2024, she’s worked on Metro’s travel desk. Highlights include dining at Michelin-star restaurants in Hong Kong, enrolling on a wilderness course in Finland, backpacking across Zanzibar, hiking the Tyrolean Alps, falling in love with the gritty streets of Naples and driving through Bavaria — all in the name of a unique story. For The Independent, her assignments include a foodie trip to Grenada, otherwise known as the ‘Isle of Spice,’ where she got to grips with Caribbean cooking and sampled (probably too many) rum punches. Away from travel, Sophie-May is an avid music fan and has authored non-fiction books for HarperCollins UK on Taylor Swift, Sabrina Carpenter and BLACKPINK.
