Its location iss, without question, one of its greatest assets. Set in the heart of the historic Lace Market, the hotel is perfectly positioned for exploring the city, with shops, restaurants, cultural landmarks, and key business areas all within easy walking distance. As someone who loves discovering cities on foot, this central location made getting around feel effortless, immersive, and genuinely enjoyable. What also fascinated me was Nottingham’s rich musical heritage. The Lace Market Hotel itself proudly displays doors covered in autographs from visiting musicians who regularly stay there, giving the hotel a real sense of cultural history and character.
One afternoon, we stopped for a light lunch and matcha at the very charming La Fleur, which felt like a little oasis within the city. Stylish, calm, and relaxed, it was the perfect spot for a moment of slower pace between meetings and exploration.
We stayed in a Superior Suite, and the room was both generous and thoughtfully designed. It featured a comfortable super king-size bed and a large superior bathroom complete with a walk-in shower and a beautiful free-standing bath. The addition of his-and-hers vanity sinks and Natural Remedies bathroom amenities added a luxurious touch. Our room overlooked the Galleries of Justice Museum, one of Nottingham’s most historic landmarks, which further enhanced the sense of place and connection to the city’s heritage.
Each morning, we enjoyed a well-executed breakfast, with a continental buffet and a selection of freshly prepared hot dishes. The full English breakfast, cooked to order by the breakfast chef, was particularly welcome before busy working days.
The Lace Market Hotel itself is a charming boutique hotel, full of character, with a strong sense of history that reflects the area's heritage. That said, while the hotel’s historic presence is undoubtedly part of its appeal, it may feel ready for a gentle refresh in places. A subtle modernisation could further elevate the experience while preserving the building’s character and charm.
The staff were consistently polite, welcoming, and helpful throughout my stay, always on hand to assist with any questions or requests. Their friendly, professional approach added greatly to the overall ease and comfort of the experience. The Lace Market Hotel is a well-located, characterful option in Nottingham, particularly well-suited to those visiting for work or short stays.
