Hotel Review

Blackberry Mountain offers a fresh perspective on a mountain retreat; set along the unspoiled ridgetop of The Great Smoky Mountains, this lifestyle hotel feels more like staying in a family friend's country cabin than in a luxury bolt-hole. With a well-stocked pantry, unparalleled views and beautifully appointed interiors, the cabins, cottages and private homes at this mountain resort are exceptionally well-thought out, meaning you can focus on rest and rejuvenation during your stay.

The resort offers three tiers of accommodation: stone cottages, Azalea Gap homes and the Watchman's Cabins. All the accommodation types come with a private sit-out terrace, indoor and/or outdoor fireplaces and stocked pantries. Interiors are breathtakingly well-designed, from the reclaimed oak floors in the Thunderhead Cottage to the 20" heated soaking tub in the Watchman's Cabins. At atmosphere of tranquility reigns, with the natural setting privileged throughout - encouraging guests to unplug from their day-to-day concerns and reconnect with nature. The larger, Azalea Gap Homes are perfect for a family trip, with multiple bedrooms and ample, comfortable living space.

While the accommodation offers self-catering facilities, the hotel also runs two excellent restaurants - Firetower and Three Sisters - both privy to sublime views and healthy, locally sourced dishes. The area is, of course, ideal for active guests, with endless options for trekking, mountain biking and climbing. The hotel has a range of packages to choose from, and a complimentary guided hike is included with most accommodation types, in addition to a golf cart reservation. However, the highlight of the hotel has to be the underground spa, offering Ayurvedic treatments and personalized wellness programmes unrivalled in any other hotel in the region. Whether you are looking for an active, outdoors holiday or a mountain hideawway, this hotel lets you do it all.
