If you can stretch to it, stay at the Hotel Elisabeth (elisabethhotel.com, €249 per room per night, based on two sharing), a short walk from the centre of Mayrhofen and the resort’s only five-star hotel. The best of both worlds is available here – luxury in almost rural surroundings on the fringe of the village, while having the top bars just five minutes away.
