“This opulent hotel is nestled beside the Villa Borghese gardens in Rome. Rooms blend modern design with neoclassical influences in a golden palette; the best suites boast unique artworks and panoramic views. Eat at Il Giardino or La Terrazza overlooking the city's sights; an indulgent hotel.”

Hotel review

Set between the Borghese Gardens and Via Veneto on a peaceful, leafy, hilly street, Hotel Eden, part of the impressive Dorchester Collection is minutes from many of Rome’s top sites. An art deco canopy above the entrance doors welcomes you. Inside a wide marble floor leads you to an old-fashioned carved marble reception with wooden pigeonholes. From the stunning golden coffered ceiling hang gorgeous golden candelabra. The elegantly panelled library is symmetrically furnished with golden-lit bookcases. Even the lifts are gilded and flowers flow freely throughout as all seems thoroughly thought through.

The unbelievably comfortable beds in the immaculate bedrooms are surrounded by the freshest of flowers, the thickest of green and gold curtains, and reflected in the shiniest of metallic mirrored wardrobes. There are TV channels from every conceivable country. The classy bathroom, inspired by Roman baths, features mosaic tiles, white marble and brushed gold heated shower racks, a walk-in rain shower and a luxurious range of Wildsmith products.

The Il Giardino Restaurant is less formal than the La Terrazza whose 5th floor staircase is studded with signed frames as it has attracted many of the world’s greatest: Bergman, Hemingway, Fellini, Pope Francis, Hoffmann, Mandela, Thatcher, Brando, McCartney, the two President Bushes, Pavarotti, Nicholson, Madonna, Connery and DiCaprio. Some roll call.

Hotel Eden

It took 18 months for the Dorchester Collection to refresh this Italian hospitality icon, but it’s been worth the wait. The classily opulent Eden sets the bar for high-end luxury in Rome. On the top floor, a gourmet restaurant and suavely chic all-day bar offer wraparound views of the Eternal City.
