This large haveli, the former townhouse of the Maharaja of Samode has been run as a hotel by his two sons for 20 years and deserves its popular reputation. There are 39 excellent rooms and suites, either in the old house or, more recently built, in the garden. Pretty courtyards, stone stairways and corridors (ask for a garden room if you’re not good on your legs) and beautifully laid out gardens are all part of its charm. A quiet escape in the middle of the bustling city of Jaipur, Samode Haveli is a great spot for individuals or couples, since the hotel does not allow groups. The swimming pool is one of Jaipur's best and is a highlight of the hotel. Those that want to get some sun can lounge by the water at the poolside bar.
