Hotel Review
“Ably cared for by owners Jane and Ray Carter, this traditional inn continues to welcomed walkers and country lovers. The long, rambling building dates from the 17th century and the setting, with the river Nidd in front and Dales spread all around, is as enchanting as the village name sounds. Bedrooms are light and fresh, with modern bathrooms but it's the food, served in a dining room sparkling with silver cutlery and crystal lights, that remains the highlight of a stay.”

See What They Say
“Ray and Jane Carter and their family have been welcoming guests to The Sportsman’s Arms hotel and restaurant for over thirty years now. Throughout this time their aims have been simple - to create a relaxed and unpretentious atmosphere and to offer experiences that will encourage diners and guests to return again and again.
Having featured in the good food guides for a number of years, in 1995 Ray and Jane decided that they would rather rely on word of mouth to spread their reputation for excellence and no longer apply for inclusion”
