About Le Conquet

The westernmost town on the French mainland, Le Conquet is a historic fishing and trading port overlooking the wild Atlantic Ocean. Famed for its narrow alleys, ancient houses and plentiful seafood, this craggy community is popular with keen sailors, foodies and outdoorsy explorers. Chosen for their fabulous location, design and amenities, our pick of the best places to stay in Le Conquet (from a cosy B&B to a luxury hotel with Michelin starred restaurant) promise a brilliant base for discovering this very special part of Finistère.

Stroll the town’s winding streets, visit the Chapelle Dom Michel, La Maison des Seigneurs and the Sainte-Croix Church for a sense of the region’s history. You’ll find the rocky coastline studded with lighthouses and ancient ruins, best seen on adventurous hikes or bicycle rides. Pointe de Kermorvan and the Fort de Bertheaume, close to Plougonvelin, are particularly picturesque.

Out at sea, spend your days sailing, fishing, kayaking and wind surfing. Guided boat trips yield sightings of dolphins and seals, whilst forays to the islands of Ushant and Sein, or the Molène Archipelago in the Iroise Sea, are spectacular. Return to one of the best places to stay in Le Conquet for sumptuous seafood suppers paired with top-notch wines.
