About St Simons Island
Best known for its summer resorts and oak-lined golf course, St Simons Island is one of the Golden Isles, on the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway. It might feel like you’re a world away with its pale, elegant condos, clean sands and green parklands, but you’re just five miles from Brunswick. You don’t even have to travel to the island by boat or plane, you can drive across the causeway, which has an impressively high bridge across the channel which opens to allow boats to pass through. Some visitors like to cycle over then use their bikes to get around the island. Many of the best places to stay on St Simons Island provide complimentary bike hire, or can help you out with rentals.
