About Seefeld

Set between Innsbruck and Munich and a popular Tyrolean resort since the 1930s, Seefeld is a great escape for winter sports or summer hiking. The best places to stay in Seefeld tend to sit within the village itself, but there are also some very special spots closer to the slopes. With everything from basic self-catering studios to five star hotels, accommodation options are as varied as the ski runs!

Seefeld village has a lovely Tyrolean feel, with traditional wooden chalets and old churches. The home of Anton Seelos, the inventor of the parallel turn, the village has also hosted several Winter Olympic Games. Highlights include excellent museums - including the Tyrolean Museum - and independent galleries, as well as a central ice rink and wonderful spa. More than 100km of runs await, catering for all abilities. Beginners will appreciate the reputable ski school, whilst seasoned skiers will find plenty of off-piste terrain to explore. Visit in the summer months for picturesque hiking along mountain trails, as well as challenging mountain biking and paragliding adventures.

As with all popular winter sports centres, the town is incredibly busy over Christmas and New Year, and during February half term. Book well ahead to guarantee a room in one of the best places to stay in Seefeld at these in peak season!
