Photo of Hotel Miranda

“Hotel Miranda has attracted aesthetes and connoisseurs since the 1960s (just check the visitors' book) and it's easy to see what drew them. Within the walls of this serene 19th century townhouse, art lovers find themselves steeped in Hydriot history.”

Hotel Review

Staying at Hotel Miranda is a little like being the guest of a small, very tasteful private museum. In a sense, you are. Walls, rooms and public spaces here are adorned with 18th and 19th century prints and paintings (most with local subjects), giving you a real feeling of being dropped into a recently-vanished Greek world, and the whole house is listed as a building of historic interest. The Miranda's own art gallery is highly regarded, and hosts exhibitions which are highlights of the Greek cultural year. Bedrooms are in equally good taste, with polished wood floors and beamed or coffered ceilings, marble-topped tables and dressers, high arched windows, dazzlingly white walls and pristine white linen. Rooms include family rooms sleeping four, a garden suite for three, and an apartment with roof garden. Breakfast continues the traditional theme, with home-made pies, pastries and preserves as well as the usual yoghurt, honey, juices and fresh coffee.
