About Exumas

The Exumas, a dreamy chain of 365 sun-drenched cays in the Bahamas, promise turquoise waters, powder-white beaches, and endless adventures on and below the waves. When it comes to hotels, Great Exuma is your go-to for everything from relaxed, budget-friendly stays to chic boutique resorts and family-friendly villas right on the sand. For something extra special, hop north to a private island retreat that feels made for sailors chasing seclusion and sea views you’ll never forget.

Many of the islands here are uninhabited or privately owned, meaning you can often have entire beaches—or even whole dive sites—to yourself. It’s the kind of place where honeymooners can truly unwind, while adventurous travellers can snorkel, fish, or kite surf without the crowds. Families love it too, with plenty of opportunities for sailing lessons, boat trips, and spotting marine life up close. If you’re after a bit more buzz between your lazy beach days, head to Great Exuma or Little Exuma. George Town, the laid-back hub of the region, is perfect for wandering past colourful shops, sampling fresh seafood, and hopping on a boat to explore the surrounding cays.
