- Casa Turquesa, also in the historic center, is a boutique bolthole with just nine rooms. Individually decorated spaces are clad in bold primary colors, with patterned textiles, draped four-poster beds and views of the rooftops. The courtyard and pool are ideal for unwinding after days of exploring.
- Pousada Literaria takes things up a notch with swish, design-led interiors in a restored heritage residence. A romantic boutique choice with clean lines, polished wood, earthy tones and a luxury feel. There's an excellent restaurant, too.
