Best Family Hotels in Geneva

Geneva is picturesquely set on Lake Geneva, surrounded by the Swiss Alps.  Clean, safe, and well-off, Geneva is an obvious stop off on the way to the Alps, or an easy city break for families.  Its historic Old Town is one of Europe’s largest, and has some wonderful architecture, arranged on elegant squares with cafes, bistros and little boutiques - Geneva has lots of chocolate shops! and jewellery shops.  Geneva is known for its luxury, boutique, and five star hotels more than its great value options, but it does have some super family-friendly accommodation at both ends of the scale.  The Old Town is a great place to stay generally, but families may be even better suited to Eaux Vives, which is next-door to the Old Town, and the lake and has one of the Geneva’s largest parks, the Parc de la Grange.  Eaux Vives is also known for its eclectic collection of boutiques, which includes some fantastic 20th century vintage shops.  Palais des Nations is another area with a good selection of the best family hotels in Geneva, it’s peaceful, hosts the botanic gardens, the headquarters of the United Nations, and some of the large international hotel chains.
