Nice is probably one of the best places on the Côte d'Azur for a family holiday. Its beaches are sandy and welcoming, with great facilities, and the old town has plenty of charm (and ice cream shops). Easily explored on foot, you'll find lots of family-friendly cafes, restaurants and activities. The Cours Saleya Market will keep you very happy if you’re self-catering with the kids, while there are some excellent museums and galleries if the weather has an unlikely ‘off day’, including the Matisse & Picasso Museum and the Marc Chagall National Museum. It has a good range of family-friendly hotels, including charming B&Bs, self-catering apartments and properties with easy beach access.
